Brief 08 | YCN Fedrigoni - Research 01

About Fedrigoni

Since its foundation in 1888, Fedrigoni has specialised in fine paper for printing, editing, labels, bookbinding, packaging and paper products. While this remains very much at the heart of the business, the company continually creates new paper processes and technologies that satisfy the ever-changing aesthetic and technical demands of the market. Thanks to an advanced logistics system benefiting from 11 warehouse branches in Italy and seven abroad, Fedrigoni builds strong relationships with customers and provides them with highly tailored services, with very fast turnaround times. By collaborating closely with customers, Fedrigoni creates specially customised paper products along with the 2,500 standard items that are always in stock. Fedrigoni never flags in the attention it pays to sustainability and respect for the environment: that attention starts with its raw materials, which it sources exclusively from suppliers who practice responsible environmental policies, and its production facilities, whose energy comes from cogeneration plants, and continues right through to the finished product and distribution.

Website -

The website has been designed to a high standard and updates its customers on latest projects which it has taken part in and likes to show the work which has been produced. This element shows to the customer how professional the company is which is a good way of persuading them to buy their products.

The range of paper which they stock is huge amounts, there is a colour wheel to chose the preferred colour and the customer can also select the weight, application and surface of the paper, its a very professional company and does all it can to please the customer.

Advertisements -

From analysing the most recent advertisements from Fedrigoni its clear that they are very proud of the paper. For example they've taken a average paper plane and then they've made a amazing plane which is theirs, this gives the suggestion that its the best and they don't settle for average, which is a very successful way of creating this message to their audience. The adverts above are all very sophisticated and they are straight to the point, each has included the paper and photograph within the posters therefore this is something I must consider within my designs. The poster are each successful in creating a brand identity, however I also think they are slightly outdated, for example the text used is serif italics font, its not very aesthetically appealing and doesn't fit with the brands image, this is a aspect which I can consider whilst creating some new designs.

Researching the company has given me a good insight into Fedrigoni, its clear that they care a lot about there brand appearance and want their customers to know that they produce the best of the best papers. They are a professional company and take part in campaigns themselves and produce publications, for other companies and customers. They take part in creating briefs for student competitions also which indicated that they interested in young upcoming creatives and like to give them opportunities.
