Brief 04 | York Arts Market - Brief

Brief-

York arts market have approached you and asked to hold an arts stall over the summer by the river. The stall will be yours for 2 Saturdays, both in August. The market consists of 40 different stalls, and its important that yours stands out. You must produce a range of products to sell to tourists and the people of York. Think carefully about what you produce and who will be buying it.

Background / Considerations-

You must think about the audience and what they will want. York is one of the most visited cities in the UK and has visitors from all over the world, therefore will be looking for memorabilia to take home. Make sure your stall stands out, there will be over 40 stalls selling similar things so be unique and stand out from the rest. Decorate your still to entice people and bring in the crowds. You must produce at least 7 products to sell at the stall.

 


Mandatory Requirements-

Your work should be documented through regular labelled posts to your Design Practice Blog.

In addition to the submission requirements for the briefs you will need to evidence research development and production of your resolutions.

Your response to the brief should be supported by a rationale and evaluation of your work in relation to the initial brief.

Deliverables-

Resolutions & Products appropriate to your selected brief.

A maximum of 8 design boards, articulating the selected research, development, resolution and contextualisation of your work.

Posts to your Design Practice blog demonstrating your ability to effectively record, document and critically evaluate the progress of your work in relation to your own intentions and appropriate areas of contemporary creative practice.
